Stephen has a diverse background that brings rich experience to his role. He has worked with many age groups, from youth to retirees and across a wide range of treatment settings, from small private practices to large mental health and addiction treatment facilities. Stephen has specialized training in the treatment of co-occurring disorders, cognitive-behavioral interventions, motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based interventions, multicultural competency, therapeutic boundaries, differential diagnosis, and psychiatric medications. Volunteerism is one of Stephen’s core values—he has volunteered as a caregiver in hospice and nursing homes, and was the volunteer Director of the Palm Beach Shambhala Meditation Group where he taught and facilitated meditation classes from 2010-2018. Throughout his career Stephen has found mindfulness and meditation practices to be the essential foundation for bringing stability, compassion, and insight to his work with patients and colleagues.
