Family Therapist

Faith Goins brings a holistic and deeply compassionate approach to her role as a Family Therapist at Sandstone Care in Denver. With a background rich in diverse experiences, Faith’s journey in mental health and addiction counseling began with internships that immersed her in substance use group facilitation and trauma-informed care within the judicial system. Her dedication led her to graduate with a certificate in chemical dependency counseling alongside her degree, underlining her commitment to understanding and treating substance use disorders.

Holding a licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Faith has cultivated a therapeutic style that is client-centered, strengths-based, and values-based, drawing from a broad spectrum of modalities including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Structural Family Therapy. This eclectic approach allows her to tailor her therapy to meet the unique needs of each individual and family she works with.

Faith’s work spans a wide array of populations, with significant expertise in forensic populations struggling with substance use, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Her belief in the importance of balance in mind, body, and spirit as a cornerstone to healing drives her to integrate many different practices into treatment. She uses loving acceptance and unconditional positive regard in order to foster change and growth.

Outside of her professional life, Faith is passionate about connecting with the natural world, engaging in breathwork, energy work, sound healing, and hot yoga. She also enjoys creative pursuits like crocheting, wood burning, and country swing dancing, which offer her balance and joy. A self-described homebody, Faith cherishes simple moments spent with her household, enjoying activities like hiking, grabbing lunch, and the occasional wildly spontaneous event. Her fondness for visiting family in Ohio and Tennessee, alongside enjoying time with friends, reflects her value on connection and community.

Faith’s approach to therapy, grounded in a rich understanding of human behavior gained from her undergraduate degree in anthropology, makes her a unique and invaluable member of the Sandstone Care team. Her commitment to her clients’ well-being, combined with her diverse interests and loving nature, exemplifies her role as a caregiver and advocate for those seeking to navigate the complexities of mental health and recovery.
