Choosing Sobriety and Accountability

“My life has improved in every aspect, I think because I’m not relying on something that could be so detrimental to me just to feel like myself… I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m still growing and I don’t have all the answers. And I’m okay with that.”

Taking the first step to overcoming addiction doesn’t have to be hard. Take some time to listen to Nico share his story of making the choice to pursue sobriety, along with the incredible ways his life has improved since.

If you’re considering entering a young adult drug treatment program, know that you aren’t alone and have a compassionate community cheering you on at Sandstone. Begin your journey by verifying your insurance or giving us a call.

Questions About Rehab Centers and Care

Our goal is to provide the most helpful information. Please reach out to us if you have any additional questions. We are here to help any way we can.

Yes. We have a teen track, which is for teens ages 13-17, and a young adult track for individuals ages 18-30. Treatment for adolescents requires a very different approach from treating adults. Adolescents have specific mental health and developmental considerations which require specialized, age-specific programming to effectively address these issues.

The amount of mental health or substance abuse treatment you need can vary depending on several factors. To determine the appropriate level and duration of rehab treatment for you, a licensed clinician will conduct a comprehensive assessment, taking into consideration various factors that might influence it. These factors include:

  • The extent and nature of your substance misuse, such as drug abuse or using multiple drugs
  • Your participation in self-help programs like 12-step programs and how effective they have been for you
  • The duration of your addiction-related problems, such as drug addiction
  • If you have any co-existing mental health issues
  • If you have been in previous rehab programs or addiction treatment programs
  • Whether you have a strong support system, including family support

By considering these factors, the clinician can determine the most suitable level and duration of care for you. They will also take into account post-treatment support, often referred to as aftercare, to ensure you will continue getting better, even after you leave our recovery center.

Cost depends on the location of the drug rehab center and health insurance plans. We keep our treatment services as affordable as possible while still maintaining the highest-quality healthcare possible. We are in-network with many insurance providers. Call our admissions helpline at 888-850-1890 or verify your insurance.

Please note we do not take Medicare or Medicaid. If you have either of these plans, you can reach out to the Maryland Department of Health for more healthcare resources.

If you do not have insurance coverage, we will work with you to explore payment options and if necessary, provide referrals to other treatment providers so that you can start feeling better as soon as possible.

Yes. Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is proven to be effective in treating substance use disorders (drug or alcohol addiction), especially in combination with evidence-based therapy, counseling, and support groups. Our personalized programming is designed to learn your needs and goals so we can choose the best course of treatment for your specific challenges. By offering medically-supervised withdrawal from substances during inpatient treatment, we help our clients recover quickly and safely from drug or alcohol use.

We also recognize that not all situations call for MAT. Our medical team will evaluate your circumstances and determine what type of treatment is appropriate for you. Learn more about Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) here.

The teens and young adults at Sandstone Care are bright and creative spirits who have been impacted by a variety of mental health issues. Typically, they are struggling with, or have experienced, anxiety, depression, trauma, and/or substance use. Individuals with a history of violence, are actively suicidal or psychotic, that have severe and persistent mental illness such as schizophrenia, or that exhibit behavioral issues that would disrupt the treatment milieu are not appropriate for Sandstone Care. Each client is carefully screened by the admissions team and the Program Director, and if needed, the Executive Clinical Director and Medical Director for appropriateness.

Our after school teen IOP offers up to 17 hours per week of clinical services including group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy sessions, academic and vocational support, and community activities.

Realizing that you need help is a big step, but coming to that conclusion may take some time. There are several signs that getting help is necessary, such as struggling with mental health issues like depression or anxiety. Some other signs may include:

  • Trying, and failing, to quit using on your own
  • Drug or alcohol use has become your first priority
  • Having difficulty maintaining relationships with friends and family
  • Abandoning school, work, or social activities in favor of substance use
  • Engaging in risky behaviors or acts of self-harm
  • Experiencing withdrawal symptoms when not using
  • Consistently using drugs or alcohol regardless of negative consequences or problems caused by substance use

If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms and you’re living in Towson, Rockville, Crownsville, Baltimore, Waldorf, Hagerstown, Earleville, Annapolis, Frederick, or any of the surrounding areas, please give our admissions team a call. They’ll be happy to talk you through our addiction recovery and mental health services.

Yes! We offer a few different options for teens and young adults who are in need of a higher level of care.

  • Our Medical Assisted Detox and Inpatient Assessment program takes place at our Colorado Springs Detox Center and was created for individuals above the age of 18 who are attempting to detox off of drugs or alcohol. This inpatient rehab program is led by a highly trained and qualified team of doctors, nurses, psychologists, and licensed therapists. The treatment facility offers private rooms and 24/7 medically supervised care to support a safe and comfortable stabilization. Following medical stabilization, clients are invited to engage in a comprehensive addiction recovery treatment program that addresses physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual needs. The program includes Individual and group therapy along with full medical, psychiatric, and psychological assessments.
  • Cascade Canyon Teen Residential is a 30-60 day treatment program for teens ages 13-17 who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, post-traumatic stress, mood and personality disorders, bipolar, and substance abuse. The house is nestled in the rocky mountains in Cascade, Colorado, and houses 8-10 teens at a time. Teens in this program participate in a daily routine that involves academic services, individual therapy, family therapy, relapse prevention, wilderness and experiential therapy, and group therapy.
  • Therapeutic Transitional Living Program is available for young adults in our day treatment and intensive outpatient programs. Our therapeutic transitional living homes are gender-specific and staffed 24/7 by addiction and mental health professionals. These houses provide stability, structure, and support during the early stages of recovery.

You can begin the process by calling our admissions department at (888) 850-1890. If you or a loved one are experiencing an emergency mental health crisis, please call the suicide prevention crisis line at 988 or SAMHSA’s national helpline at 1-800-662-4357.
