If you’re unsure whether or not you need treatment for your mental health struggles, here are some signs that it might be time to seek professional help:

  • Consistent Negative Emotions: You’re experiencing persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, or other emotions that get in the way of your daily life.
  • Changes in Behavior: You’ve noticed changes in your behavior including canceling social plans, changes in appetite, lack of sleep or sleeping too much, or a loss of interest in school or work.
  • Physical Symptoms: You’re experiencing unexplained aches or chronic fatigue.
  • Difficulty Coping: It’s becoming more difficult to cope with everyday stressors, and you may be relying on unhealthy coping mechanisms like substance use.
  • Thoughts of Harm: You have thoughts of harming yourself or others.

It’s always a good idea to talk to a mental health professional who can assess your situation and get you the help you need. Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness, and it’s an important step toward taking care of your well-being.

Mental health conditions don’t wait for a convenient time to strike, and leaving them untreated can lead to more long-term damage in your academic and work life than the time it would take to seek treatment.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program Richmond can be completed after your work or school responsibilities. Richmond therapy sessions include CBT and DBT therapy. These programs, led by skilled clinicians, provide the structure and direction you need without forcing you to take a break from your daily commitments.

Our IOP program lets you prioritize your health without putting your life on hold.

Seeking treatment isn’t a burden; in fact, it can actually lift the burdens your family is already carrying. We offer support groups and family therapy to ensure everyone is taken care of.

Your willingness to seek help is often the crucial first step in breaking cycles of generational pain within your family. Involving your family in treatment strengthens relationships and equips them with the skills to navigate their own emotional challenges.

Reach out to our admissions team to learn more about getting treatment for behavioral health (Richmond VA).

Through our skill-building exercises and therapeutic treatment methods, you’ll learn healthy coping mechanisms that you can start putting into action right away.

At our Richmond Mental Health Center, we only use evidence-based approaches that are scientifically-proven to help. Our highly-credentialed staff use a combination of therapeutic techniques such as CBT and DBT, psychiatry, & experiential therapies, to uncover the underlying causes of your mental health struggles.

You’ll have the confidence & tools to face old triggers, and your mental health struggles will no longer disrupt your daily life and overall well-being.
