Alcohol

The transition between recreational alcohol use and alcohol dependence can be a subtle one. But if you’re finding that you can’t stop drinking when you want to, you may have alcohol dependence.

Marijuana

Similar to alcohol use, smoking or ingesting marijuana has become normalized as a way to relax or take the edge off. When overused, it can make you feel unable to cope with life without using.

Stimulants

A stimulant is any drug that increases your central nervous system activity. Stimulants are used to heighten attention, hyperactivity, and alertness. Abuse of these drugs can lead to a variety of health problems.

Opioids

Opioids are a class of drugs that include synthetic opioids, pain killers, and the illegal drug heroin. These drugs, including prescription medications, are highly addictive.

Making the decision to change your life for the better is no small thing. We understand that you have questions, and we want to give you all the answers you need.

Don’t see your questions below? Give us a call! Our admissions counselors are standing by; they will get to know you and your specific situation and connect you to the help you need – even if it’s not with us.

Our intensive outpatient programs (IOP) can be completed after your work or school responsibilities. These programs are specifically designed to provide the support you need without requiring you to put your daily commitments on pause. We also provide virtual IOP (VIOP) that allows you to receive Telehealth treatment.

Our day treatment programs also include academic and vocational support from licensed teachers who can help you stay on top of your obligations and even excel in your school and work responsibilities.

Remember, addiction doesn’t respond to our schedules. If it is left untreated, addiction can cause significant disruptions in your academic and professional life that last far longer than the time you would take away for treatment. When you choose to focus on your health today, you’re giving yourself the power to succeed in your academic, personal, and professional life tomorrow.

Seeking treatment services doesn’t have to be a burden; in fact, it can actually lift the burdens your family is already carrying. Your addiction is likely already impacting those you love, and by taking steps towards recovery, you’re not only helping yourself but also jumpstarting the healing process for everyone involved.

We offer support groups and family therapy because we know that involving your family in treatment can strengthen support systems and equip everyone with the skills to navigate their own challenges. You should not have to take this journey alone, and your willingness to seek help from a drug and alcohol rehab center is often the crucial first step in breaking cycles of generational pain within your family.

The recovery journey is rarely straightforward, and it’s normal to face setbacks. If you’ve tried to overcome substance use before and it didn’t go as planned, remember that addictions are designed to be difficult to break. There’s nothing wrong with seeking out help along the way to a healthier future.

At our Richmond rehab center, we’re committed to providing evidence-based treatments that are proven to support lasting recovery. We offer a comprehensive approach that includes a mix of individual counseling and group therapy, using treatment modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), experiential therapies, addiction medicine, as well as academic and vocational support.

By addressing the underlying causes of addiction and equipping you with practical strategies to navigate it, envisioning life beyond addiction becomes much easier. We also provide a detailed discharge plan and ongoing aftercare to ensure you have the support you need beyond your initial treatment.

These methods are grounded scientific research, so you can feel confident that your recovery is based on effective and reliable relapse prevention approaches.

Here at Sandstone Care, we specialize in developing diverse addiction treatment programs to meet clients where they are. Our treatment options include detox, teen residential programs, Transitional Living partial hospitalization programming (PHP), outpatient treatment, and more.

  • Your overall physical and mental health
  • The necessity for medication management in drug abuse detoxification

Once you complete your substance abuse treatment programming, our discharge planners will sit down with you for an evaluation to discuss personalized aftercare options tailored to your needs.

Yes. Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is proven to be effective in treating substance use disorders, especially in combination with evidence-based therapy and counseling. Our personalized programming is designed to learn your needs and goals so we can choose the best course of treatment for your specific challenges. By offering medically-supervised withdrawal from substances, we help our clients recover quickly and safely from drug or alcohol use.

We also recognize that not all situations call for MAT. Our medical team will evaluate your circumstances and determine what type of treatment is appropriate for you. Learn more about Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) here.

Loved ones play a key part in the overall wellness of each person, which is why Sandstone Care incorporates family therapy sessions into every treatment plan.

We offer individual family therapy sessions bi-weekly to examine the role the family plays in behavioral health. Because connection can be key to recovery, our case management team will work with you and your family to help you foster meaningful connections within the family unit.

Our recovery program also utilizes weekly Multi-Family psychotherapy groups to reinforce new skills being learned in groups, as well as a source of support and guidance during the rehabilitative care process.
