What is IOP Treatment?

Our comprehensive IOP program addresses issues with substance use, addiction, and mental health conditions like trauma, anxiety, and depression. IOP is a 12 week program that gives you the freedom to schedule treatment without having to disrupt your daily life.

Unlike higher levels of care like inpatient programs where you’d stay in a facility, intensive outpatient services allow you to live at home while attending several weekly therapy sessions. Treatment services offer a mix of group therapy, one-on-one counseling, and family therapy sessions.

This combination of therapies provides full support by promoting personal growth, community connection, and stronger family relationships, all of which are key to lasting recovery. You’ll develop coping skills, manage triggers, and be supported in your recovery.

Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program Benefits

These are only a few of the benefits of an intensive outpatient treatment program.

Also, if home life is not supportive and only causes you more trouble, we have a transitional living program that may be a better fit for you.

How We Are Different

BioPsychoSocial Care

Recovery is about more than just stopping a behavior—it’s about healing your whole self. The biopsychosocial approach combines biological, psychological, and social care to give you the most complete support possible.

By addressing all three areas, we ensure that you’re not only managing physical symptoms, but also building mental resilience and creating a strong support system. This holistic approach sets the foundation for a deeper, more lasting recovery, giving you the tools to thrive in every aspect of your life.

Biological

Biological care addresses the physical side of recovery, focusing on how your body has been impacted by substance use or mental health challenges.

Through medication management and psychiatric support, we help you regain control of your body, reducing cravings and physical symptoms that can hinder your progress. Our team monitors your wellness closely, ensuring you feel stronger and more capable on your path to recovery.

Icon Mental Health
Psychological

Psychological care addresses the emotional and mental health issues that often accompany substance abuse and mental illness.

Through psychotherapy and psychoeducation, including therapies like CBT and DBT, we help adolescents and young adults alike understand their triggers, manage stress, and build healthier coping mechanisms.

This emotional strength is crucial for creating lasting change and stepping down from higher levels of care when ready.

The Family Component
Social

Social care emphasizes the importance of a supportive environment in recovery.

We work with you and your loved ones to repair relationships and build a strong network of support, offering case management, referrals to treatment facilities, and guidance on insurance coverage.

Strengthening your social foundation helps ensure you have the stability and resources to continue your recovery journey without feeling alone or overwhelmed.

FAQ

You Have Questions, We Have Answers.

Our goal is to provide the most helpful information. Please reach out to us if you have any additional questions. We are here to help in any way we can.

An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a structured treatment program designed for individuals struggling with mental health issues, substance abuse, or both. It offers therapy and support several times a week without requiring the individual to stay in a treatment facility. IOP is used to provide comprehensive care while allowing participants to continue their daily responsibilities, like work or school. It’s often a step-down option after inpatient treatment or for those who need more support than traditional outpatient therapy.

A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) offers more intensive treatment than an IOP. PHP typically requires 5-7 days of therapy per week for several hours each day, while IOP involves fewer therapy sessions, usually 3-5 days per week. PHP is often used for individuals who need a high level of care but don’t require 24-hour supervision. IOP, on the other hand, provides flexibility for those who still need structured care but are more stable and able to live at home.

Yes, IOPs are highly effective, especially for individuals transitioning from more intensive care or those who need extra support managing your recovery. IOPs offer a balance of flexibility and structure, allowing individuals to continue your daily lives while receiving treatment. The combination of individual and group therapy, along with family involvement, helps reinforce coping skills, manage triggers, and build a strong support network. Many people find lasting recovery through IOPs because they provide a comprehensive, ongoing level of care.

Yes, IOPs can be very effective for treating anxiety. The program provides therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which are proven to help individuals manage anxiety symptoms. Through regular therapy sessions, psychoeducation, and coping strategies, individuals in IOPs learn to reduce anxiety, handle stress, and manage your triggers in a supportive environment while maintaining your daily routines.
