Many physical activities also have the added benefit of creating community and connection – whether it is playing on a soccer team or being part of a close CrossFit community, or even going for a walk with a friend, we get an added benefit when we work out with others.
Because working out with others is both a common sense and evidence-based component of recovery, Sandstone Care is so excited to be partnering with Phoenix Multisport, a sober active community with locations across the country, including Denver, Boulder, and Colorado Springs. They offer a wide variety of classes such as boxing, CrossFit, yoga, rock climbing, and weight lifting, as well as multi-day excursions like ski and bike trips. They also support members in connecting through non-athletic social events. Sandstone has partnered with Phoenix to create a Friday evening program just for our clients, where clients can not only work out but connect with knowledgeable staff who are willing to share their own journeys of recovery. Clients also become members of the community and can join in other events as they wish.
The Sandstone Care model of sustainable recovery involves community, connection, integrity, and life skills, and Phoenix Multisport helps clients develop all these qualities.

Sandstone Care is a Denver, Colorado-based treatment program for young adults and adolescents struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Sandstone Care offers a full continuum of outpatient care including Extended Care, Day Treatment, Intensive Outpatient, and General Outpatient Programs for young adults (ages 18-30) and adolescents (ages 13-18).
