Changing the direction of your life is a deeply personal process, and your treatment plan should reflect that. We listen closely to your unique situation so that you have a personalized recovery plan that helps you heal your relationship with yourself and those you love.
Instead of just covering up your symptoms in a one-size-fits-all program, we work with you to uncover the root causes of your addiction and give you practical skills that can help you address triggers long after you leave Sandstone Care.

Different substances affect your body and mind in different ways. We have specialized treatment options and highly qualified professionals to help you recover from the unique effects of your particular addiction.
Sandstone Care aims to drive positive lasting change in real people. We understand that you have unique circumstances, so we offer a more personalized inpatient treatment experience than you would find anywhere else.
We are age-specific, not gender-specific. Our support services focus on the unique circumstances that you face at your specific stage of life.
In individual therapy sessions you’ll benefit from treatment interventions that have been scientifically proven to provide consistent, lasting recovery.
You are more than a number, which is why we provide an intimate group therapy setting where your voice can be heard.
No one person is the same, and neither is their recovery journey. Your treatment program will be tailored to your unique health care needs.
We want you to get the most out of life, which means feeling your best in the classroom or at your job.
Recovery involves the entire family unit, so we provide resources and information for the whole family.
At Sandstone Care, we know disorders like anxiety and depression can have a profound impact on one’s ability to enjoy life. That’s why our residential treatment programming addresses both addiction and mental health challenges.
In a recent study of people who completed treatment with us, the group reported a 57% decrease in anxiety symptoms. The same group also experienced a 78% decrease in symptoms of depression.
These are life changing numbers for our alumni. And for those experiencing addiction, they can be the difference between relapse and lasting recovery.
The first 48 hours of detox are crucial, and your comfort and safety during that stage is our highest priority. Once you are stabilized, we will then complete a full medical, psychiatric, and psychological assessment.
These evaluations give us a clear picture of how we can help you in your recovery journey, allowing us to tailor a treatment plan to your unique needs. The assessment process covers the following topics:
In addition to an initial evaluation with our Nurse Practitioner, you will be assessed every four hours by a member of our nursing team. This nursing assessment includes checking vital signs, monitoring withdrawal symptoms, and administering medications as needed.
You will have an initial evaluation of your substance use disorder to make sure that your treatment team has all of the information they need to take care of you in the best way possible.
This information will be gathered again later during the biopsychosocial assessment, which is completed by a therapist or certified addiction counselor.
Each day, you will have a one-on-one check in with a therapist or counselor to evaluate your mental and emotional status, as well as any symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, or any other mental health disorders you may be struggling with.
During the biopsychosocial assessment, you are asked to provide in-depth information about the history of family medical, mental health, and substance use disorders to help inform medical and clinical recommendations and treatment planning.
You will meet with our psychiatric nurse practitioner for an initial evaluation of your mental health and psychiatric status. This evaluation will determine whether or not psychiatric medications would be useful in the management of any symptoms and diagnoses.
It’s important for the medical and clinical staff to know what medications you have been on in the past. If medications are prescribed by the medical team at Colorado Springs Detox Center, regular assessments of medication effectiveness will be completed in order to ensure we are providing the best and most effective care possible.
The discharge planning team works with you individually to build a discharge plan that is unique to you. Depending on your specific needs, they may be given referrals for residential, extended care, or outpatient programs for ongoing aftercare support.
“They were so friendly and knowledgeable always willing to help and adjust to the needs of the people in their care. If you need help do not hesitate you will not regret it!”
Evidence-based therapies (EBTs) use treatment modalities that have been proven effective through scientific research. They include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and more.
These modalities provide real, life-changing results that can help you get your life back on track.
Some additional benefits include:
The American Psychological Association created the policies for EBTs using the best research available. Studies have shown that these therapy treatments lead to longer-lasting results.
Since these kinds of treatments are scientifically proven to be more effective, the chances of relapse are less likely, which means less money spent on future treatments.
EBTs require specialized training in the different kinds of therapies, which means you are guaranteed that qualified, verified therapists are in charge of your care.
EBTs are safe and proven treatments, so you can feel confident that your recovery is not left up to chance. Your mental health assessments and preferences will determine which EBTs are used in your treatment plans.
When you enter one of our addiction treatment programs at a Sandstone Care treatment facility, you can rest easy knowing we’ll be right there with you from detoxification, to sobriety maintenance, all the way to relapse prevention and aftercare.
Our qualified substance abuse treatment and mental health professionals will help you to identify underlying factors that are contributing to your drug or alcohol use. Addressing the root causes of addiction will help decrease the intensity of cravings and improve your overall well-being.
We listen to your concerns and provide recovery support every step of the way, so you can live a healthier and happier life.
We understand that there’s often overlap in symptoms between drug use and mental health disorders (also called “co-occurring disorders”). That’s why we also specialize in mental health treatments, providing a dual-diagnosis approach.
If you suffer from mental illness, it is very important to treat your condition alongside substance use disorder, because symptoms of mental health disorders often make addiction recovery more difficult.
Our staff is trained to identify and treat co-occuring mental health conditions. In treatment, you’ll address these issues and learn healthier coping skills so you can have the best chance at lasting recovery.
