We are age-specific, not gender-specific. We focus on the unique circumstances that adolescents and young adults face.
Level of Care: Outpatient
Program length: 4-12 weeks
Ages: Teens and Young Adults
As teen or young adult, life can be overwhelming. If you’re searching for Arlington Heights counseling services to help you or a loved one with mental health issues like depression, trauma, or anxiety, you’re in the right place.
Our Arlington Heights Mental Health Center provides in-person Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Programming (PHP). These flexible options provide comprehensive mental health care while allowing you to continue meeting your daily responsibilities.
With a low client-to-staff ratio, our center for mental wellness ensures you’ll receive dedicated attention and custom treatment plans — not one-size-fits-all counseling. At Sandstone Care, we’ll guide you through your difficult moments and teach coping skills you can put into practice right away.
“Sometimes navigating the mental health world can be a nightmare, [but Sandstone] is a very welcoming and easy environment.” – Nick
When Nick and his partner Alex arrived at Sandstone, they knew this was going to be different than any anxiety and depression center they’d experienced before. During their time with us, they learned how to navigate Nick’s diagnosis, advocate for his mental health, and strengthen their relationship through family therapy.
But don’t take our word for it: Listen to Nick and Alex’s shared experience of Sandstone’s outpatient center.
I initially came to Sandstone for IOP and it helped me get through a really though time in my life. I ended up staying through OP and I would recommend it to anyone that needs support with their mental health.

5-21 days of 24/7 on-site medical supervision.
Our Medically-Assisted Detox and Inpatient Center offers private rooms and 24/7 medically supervised care to support a safe recovery from drugs and alcohol, followed by comprehensive treatment that addresses your physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual needs.
30-90 days of on-site 24/7 treatment.
We provide residential treatment centers (RTCs) for teens (13-18) and young adults (18-30), treating mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use.
Our teen RTCs treat adolescents in a serene setting with smaller group sizes and a focus on strengthening the family unit. The length of stay is 60-90 days. Our young adult RTC offers young adults a peaceful environment in which they can be treated for mental health challenges within 30-45 days. Both RTCs create a distraction-free space for healing, helping clients return to daily life feeling more balanced and well.
2-6 months
Our Transitional Living Program can be combined with clinical programming to provide a comprehensive treatment experience for our young adult client’s struggling with substance use disorders.
Our homes are for individuals aged 18-30 and help clients establish a supportive community and accountability, while increasing independence and personal responsibility.
4 weeks of on-site day treatment.
Our Teen & Young Adult Day Treatment program, also known as Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), is a highly structured level of care that offers five days of robust programming a week.
Our mental health and substance use programming helps clients to stabilize, begin to understand their mental health and/or addiction struggles, and heal from them. We strive to help our clients become more like the person they want to be, without using negative coping strategies or substances to get there.
12 weeks of on-site treatment.
Our Teen & Young Adult IOP, or Intensive Outpatient Program, consists of 3-4 days of weekly programming that treats mental health challenges such as depression, trauma, anxiety, and substance use.
IOP includes individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy. This flexible treatment option occurs in the evening hours so you can continue meeting your school or work responsibilities while receiving care.
We help teens, young adults, and their families overcome challenges with depression, trauma, anxiety, and other mental health conditions in Arlington Heights.
